The leading edge of UV Sterilization Technology
Ultraviolet sterilization is a proven, dependable, and effective method for controlling the "Green Water Syndrome" that is the scourge of all koi keepers. There is virtually no better way of eliminating the free floating algae spores that are the cause of this condition.
The ultraviolet radiation that controls unwanted organisms, affects only the micro organisms that pass through the UV unit, thus the beneficial bacteria in your biological filter and pond are not harmed in any way.
Delta Ultraviolet’s Elektra® Pro (EP) series of UV sanitizers have been in production since 1999. These 100% Stainless Steel housing systems have become the “Cadillac” of UV sanitizers for the Koi Pond industry and have gained a reputation second to none for quality, functionality, performance and reliability. Four different model sizes are available for circulation systems with water flow rates from 31 GPM (117 LPM) to 100 GPM (379 LPM). All models are available in 120V and 240V 50/60 Hz electrical ratings for worldwide application. Further, the units PVC inlet/outlet piping unions are available in both imperial and metric pipe sizes for true worldwide use.
A stainless steel mounting base and the unionized inlet/outlet piping makes physical installation easy to accomplish using common tools. Suitable for both indoor and outdoor installation, electrical connection is accomplished with the supplied flexible power cord and plug. (Overseas units are supplied with a blunt end power cord to EU specifications) All units bear the Underwriters Laboratories, Inc. label for US and Canada, the CE mark, as well as the required EPA manufacturers certification mark.
All models in the Series feature 100% Electronic ballasts housed inside an easily removable plastic electrical enclosure. Inside the enclosure you will find a pressure switch that automatically controls the ON/OFF of the system whenever water stops flowing in the chamber. This exclusive feature protects the UV lamp from overheating and solarizing (discoloration) of the quartz tube and lamp when water is not flowing to cool the tube and lamp. Once the electrical enclosure top is removed, the re-lamping of the unit is a simple 2 minute job.
Like all of Delta Ultraviolet systems, Delta's proprietary High Output (HO) low pressure lamp is capable of 30,000 µ/sec/cm2 output at lamp end-of-life (EOL) when design flow rates are maintained. This is the same requirement for Class A drinking water, so you can be assured of the highest quality water standard. The long life lamp is rated at 9000 hours of continuous use (approximately 1 year). As noted above, re-lamping is a simple process.
